Workforce Activities Plan Modification -- PUBLIC NOTICE

Friday, April 11, 2014

Attention Local educational agencies, community and faith based organizations, local chambers of commerce, local labor organizations, and all other interested parties.

The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) is facilitating a modification to the local plan for workforce activities in the City of Chicago and Suburban Cook County.  As a part of the modification, the WIA Program Year 2013 (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2015), is receiving additional Title I funds in the amount of $872,685 to the Dislocated Workers funding stream, increasing the grant from $41,725,000   to $42,598,016.  In addition, The Partnership will transfer $456,213 from Dislocated Workers to the Adult funding stream.  The funds will be allocated by programs as follows:  $13,961,999 for Adult Services, $14,898,948 for Dislocated Workers and $13,737,069 for Youth Services.  This modification is implemented because the Governor decided to reduce the set aside for Rapid Response and distribute that funding to the LWIAs via their formula grants and to plan for the first quarter limitation of Program Year 2014.

A copy of the budget and planned registrants will be available for public review and comment beginning April 11, through May 10, 2014 at The Partnership administrative office located at 69 West Washington-Suite 2860, Chicago, Ill 60602.

Persons interested in information relating to this modification and or making public comment should contact Kirklinn Fowlkes at (312) 603-0226.
