DOL Youth CareerConnect Grant Program
DOL Youth CareerConnect Grant Program The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), announced the availability of approximately $100 million in grant funds for the Youth CareerConnect grant program. The program is designed to provide high school students with education and training that combines rigorous academic and technical curricula focused on specific in-demand occupations and industries for which employers are using H-1B visas to hire foreign workers as well as the related activities necessary to support such training to increase participant's employability in H-1B in-demand industries and occupations. All grantees are required to demonstrate a strong public/private partnership, and must include, at a minimum, a local education agency, a local workforce investment system entity responsible for the administration of WIA Title 1 funds, an employer, and an institution of higher education. The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership serves as the WIA Title 1 administrator for Cook County and is a REQUIRED partner for this grant. The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership will review all requests for letters of support. Please complete and submit the questionnaire to be considered. Questionnaires are due by January 15th and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. All applicants will receive confirmation when the questionnaire is received.
